Sound & Place
hello
Thanks for visiting! I’m an arts & business entrepreneur, based primarily in Cambridge & London. My arts focus is on music & sound and arrangement & composition, often in relation to spaces & architecture, and my work frequently includes video, technology and language as well. I am fully involved in every aspect of production from the technology used to deliver moments both live & virtual, through to the messaging design & audience engagement, and want to create moments of exquisite connection between music and audiences.
I’ve collaborated with global bands such as Basement Jaxx, created and delivered the groundbreaking and totally immersive ‘In The Dark’ series in 2017-20, which is finally relaunching in 2025 in London. I’ve composed film scores and original music for the launch of multiple new buildings and to celebrate key milestones in the history of institutions and their architecture, set stunning poetry to music and premiered it in one of the most beautiful acoustics in the country, and finally alongside this developed a strong skill set working with singers, musicians, producers, technicians and buildings, working alongside them all to achieve extraordinary things together.
I’m captivated by music in situ - where it is performed, who it is meant to engage, how it can break down expected barriers, what it can achieve in relation to the architecture & movement surrounding it.
But more than anything, I simply want music to ‘do good’. In 2013 launched Dosoco, a music foundation which gives out grants to people & projects using music for social good, and have two awards for using music to change the world - a NESTA / Observer Magazine #50newradicals award in 2018, and a SheSaidSo alternative power music honoree in 2020.
If you’re looking to create site specific, original work that moves people, then I’d love to hear from you.
